EXHIBITION DETAILS

Brick Odyssey presents over 50 spectacular brick sculptures on the themes of architecture, engineering, history and travel. All builds come with accompanying interpretation panels, plus an Artists at Work video, Brick Graffiti Wall, and Play top Stations containing Duplo and System bricks.

The models are presented on high quality custom-lit plinths with Perspex hoods, or custom designed large format plinths. Each is accompanied by informative interpretation captions. Many visitors will simply enjoy the models whilst others might engage by crafting their own brick creations. Some examples of the models and activities presented include:

Imperial Rome – The Eternal City, recreated in 300,000 bricks is the largest of Rocco’s creations. Explore the world of Classical Antiquity as you discover monumental sites amidst narrow, winding streets of the world’s first metropolis; from the Colosseum and Circus Maximus, to the Imperial Baths and seven hills!

Taj Mahal – Far more than just the iconic marble mausoleum, you’ll experience the entire 42-acre complex and the vivid contrast of red sandstone against bright foliage. Discover the Mughal gardens and water channels, the designs of which are rooted in Ancient Persian vernacular

Chicago Loop – The landscape that started it all, Rocco’s hometown is brought to life in a stunningly detailed urban diorama meandering along the Chicago River. Everything from skyscraper spires and rooftop satellite dishes, to public plaza artwork and riverwalk parks, it’s “My Kind of Town!”

Central London – Recreates the entire Westminster World Heritage Site, including the Houses of Parliament – with its iconic “Big Ben” clock tower – and the English Gothic Westminster Abbey. Hop to the River Thames for a quick stop at the incredible London Eye, a masterclass of modern engineering!

Hagia Sophia – This historic building is located at the intersection of Eastern and Western cultures. Built nearly 1,500 years ago, it represents an example of Roman architectural style and has influenced subsequent Islamic architecture.

Golden Gate Bridge, Sydney Opera House, Burj Khalifa and many more…
