EXHIBITION DETAILS

Brick Journey presents over 30+ spectacular LEGO brick sculptures on the theme of transport and travel. All builds come with accompanying interpretation panels, plus an Artists at Work video, LEGO Brick Graffiti Wall, and Play top Stations containing Duplo and System bricks.

The models are presented on high quality custom-lit plinths with Perspex cases and accompanied by informative interpretation captions. Many visitors will simply enjoy the LEGO models or alternatively try their hand at crafting their own brick creations. For those who want to look deeper, the models are grouped in five transport and travel themes, with large colourful interpretation panels. Some examples of the models and activities presented include:

• A large scale replica of the Olton Hall locomotive – Synonymous with the Harry Potter movies will feature as a centrepiece of the exhibition. Standing at approx. 1 metre high and 3 metres long this iconic steam engine will amaze visitors with its intricate details and provide the perfect photo opportunity for those would-be wizards or steam train enthusiasts.
• An 8-metre-long model of an airport – one of the largest ever created by Warren Elsmore. It features all of the normal activity associated with an airport, including terminal buildings, runway with working lights and an airport soundtrack.
• Nuclear Submarine – The latest Astute class submarine is modelled in LEGO at 2 meters long
• Forth Bridge – A large and impressive model of the Forth suspension bridge just north of Edinburgh. This model shows the slender nature of a modern bridge and the intricacies of the construction
• Pillars of creation mosaic – Possibly one of the most recognisable images taken by the Hubble space telescope, this mosaic consists of around 25,000 individual pieces of LEGO bricks.
• Steampunk submarine, hot air balloons and much more
