ORIGINS OF WINE
Origins of Wine explores the history of one of the world’s oldest pleasures: drinking wine.
This sensory exhibition narrates the story of wine and its major impact on the Mediterranean world. While exploring the religious and cultural values associated with wine, visitors will experience ancient methods of wine production from the grapevine to the bottle and learn how winemaking became an important industry in the pre-modern era. The exhibition features an impressive array of rare antiquities, artifacts, artworks, and interactives including wine presses, working models, and the cross-sectioned hull of a cargo ship. The scientific concept is by Museo Galileo in Florence.
